The title just about sums up Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
St. Robert and Waynesville (the towns surrounding the fort) make Raleigh seem like NYC. The biggest attractions for me so far have been the Wal-Mart, Cracker Barrel, Cinema 8, and Dairy Queen. Then again, to be fair to the area, you only see so much when you have limited to no transportation. The cab service is ridiculously expensive. It cost me and three other friends $14 each to go 5 miles down the road to the cinema and back. Probably won't be doing that again...
Today is a lazy day. It's raining with a few thunderclouds outside. My roommate, Hannah, and I have been sitting on the couch in our hotel room watching TV since we got back from the free breakfast downstairs. The rain makes me sleepy.
11 more workdays to go with the 1-48th Infantry Basic Training Company! I fly out at 2pm on August 9th and arrive in Raleigh around 8:30pm. My parents will be there to pick me up, and I'm excited to see them as it will have been 8 weeks since they dropped me off at the Raleigh airport on June 13th. Not so excited to start seat-detail at Carter Finley on August 12th... but... haha... at least I'll finally be home.
